WHERE AND HOW DO I FIND MY SMARTCARDNUMBER AND DECODER NUMBER?

The smartcard is an integral part of a decoder hence, its removal must be strongly discouraged. However, fetching the smartcard number or the decoder serial number can be easily done without having to remove the card.

While the decoder is powered on, press the MENU button from the remote control, scroll to the Information Central and press Ok to select it. On this page, line 6 bears the smartcard information which displays the smartcard number as well as the status.

Copy out the number and return to your normal viewing page using the EXIT button. The decoder serial number is located on a coded sticker stuck behind the decoder, mostly starting with an alphabet.

HOW CAN I RECHARGE MY DSTV – RENEW MYSUBSCRIPTION?
MultiChoice has developed many options for payment to enhance flexibility and ease stress on the part of their customers. However, the candid truth remains that certain considerations must be made to determine the best among them in line with what the subscriber needs.

Basically, these platforms can credit your account, but some fail to reconnect accounts while some do not change bouquets where the customer intends doing so. While you have payment across counter via offices or branches, you also have internet or online and mobile payment options via Quickteller, PAGA, ATM, mobile money etc.

Paying via offices across the counter offers direct and instant crediting, reconnecting and adjustment of customer’s account to bill appropriately while other platforms may still require customers to put a call across the Helpdesk to effect the necessary adjustments on such account. The secret to reducing this stress is, if you are to use these alternative forms of payment, ensure payment is made before due date and of the same existing bouquet. Where a different amount is made, with intention of changing bouquet, still put a call to Helpdesk or visit any office for account readjustment.
I HAVE AN EXTRAVIEW,BUT MY REMOTE CONTROL STOPPED RESPONDING TO ONE OF THE DECODERS
In an ExtraView setup, a decoder has its corresponding remote control that works on it. The primary decoder responds to remote controls which has functionalities set on TV 1, while the secondary decoder responds to remote controls set on TV 2.

A TV 1 remote control indicator light blinks on the left side when pressed while its TV 2 counterpart blinks on the right. If any of your ExtraView decoders stop responding, check to see if the functionalities are still where they ought to be. Otherwise, to change remote functionalities to either TV 1 or TV 2, press the SHIFT button once.

As it blinks, then press either the information I button for TV 1, or the EXIT button for TV 2. The indicator light will shift accordingly to the desired position and then test the remote for confirmation.
WHAT DO I DO WHEN MY DSTV DECODER ENCOUNTERS SIGNAL LOSS?
When your decoder powers up but does not load the scanning values, when your channels make some crack-like sound, stiffen, and writes messages like “connection to your DStv signal is lost”, what do you do? These are indications that your signal reception has been lost.

Firstly, ensure that your LNB signal cable is well screwed behind your decoder’s LNB IN port. When confirmed and problem persists, invite a certified installer.

NOTE: when rain falls, it is normal to have a momentary loss of signal, which usually clears as soon as rainfall stops.
